Us:
For five
brothers growing up in Philadelphia, cheese steaks were around as much
as having a catch in the backyard or picking on one another. They found
that cheese steaks are just as good whether grabbing one alone after
a basketball game or sharing them with the whole family some Sunday
night.
One
of the brothers, with his wife and children, moved to Memphis and dreamed
of bringing that unique taste - along with other Philadelphia specialties,
such as hoagies, Italian ice and TastyKakes - to his adopted Southern
home. So, he teamed up with his brothers, and the restaurant South
Philly came to life!
It is our hope, as you walk through the doors of South Philly,
that the sound of the cook chopping the steaks on the sizzling grill,
the savory aromas and the come-as-you-are setting bring the flavor of
Philadelphia to you even before you take that first bite. And just a
helpful hint to all you Memphians who may not have ordered a cheese
steak the "Philly" way, here's how you do it:
